I saw Dr. Barge for over seven years, until I moved to a different state. She is very insightful and patient. She helped me deal with a lot of different kinds of events and themes in my life as I matured over the years. She backed up her insights and advice with her deep knowledge of and experience with medical psychology, and recommended literature to me so I could learn more on my own too. I always felt that she truly cared for me. I would not be who I am today without her.

Dr. Barge was the catapult that launched me into recovery from many years of depression and heavy drinking, the result of early trauma. My sister passed away in a car accident when I was 16, which is a challenging age as is. She was the second child my parents lost too early. She started off professional and slowly if you continue more sessions you realize she is a waste of time, and on top of it she is extremely unethical, sharing clients’ private information in a desperate attempt to get recognition. I would give her 0 stars but unfortunately that is not an option.

I was a client of Dr. JoAnne Barge and was unfortunately disappointed with her services. While she is experienced, I found her rushing to negative judgements too quickly. Also, during the sessions, she was mostly quiet with little direction. At first, I thought this is because we are still getting to know, but it never got any better. I am not a fan of therapy where the client does the vast majority of the talking.

Dr. Barge is amazing. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. I can't thank her enough for the level of understanding and compassion with which she approached things. Her insights had a profound impact on me. I recommend her without hesitation.
