Dr. Chow is a fabulous surgeon. I have 2 hips done with his SuperPATH surgery. In & out of hospital in less than 24 hrs. They were great - until I found I had blood poisoning from metal parts in Wright Medical's hip replacements. I was very ill. It came suddenly with no warning. I was not aware there was cobalt in any part of my hips. My cobalt levels were off the charts. As was chromium. No linger in AZ I sought meducal care at Univ. of Penn Hospital Orthopedics. Today I am 6 mo post op for hip replacement. First I’d like to say Dr Chow and all his staff are wonderful caring people who are truly invested in their patient’s positive outcome. My surgery was at Abrazo and there again, everyone was great. I am still struggling with limited range of motion and balance. I am 5’3” and 125lb and worked very hard pre-op getting in great shape, personal trainer, and daily gym, etc. I thought I would ace the surgery and have a fast recovery. Dr. Jimmy Chow is a great Dr. However, the way they billed me for the procedure was boarder line robbery. They have you pay an upfront cost, they say you will get back about 80% of what you paid. Ok. No biggie. Yeah. Until the insurance company comes back and only pays them about 15% , they give you that and keep the rest. Ex. You pay 8k. They give you back 1200. And say that all your ins company would pay. Which means you’re stuck. So I went to another place with another surgery and place where I had an easier insurance out... read more
