I have been a patient of Dr. Thurman’s for years, and he has always been an excellent doctor. I have a lot of confidence in his care and have never had any issues with him personally. However, I recently had a very frustrating experience with the office scheduling. I had an appointment scheduled for 9:00 AM and even received two emails in the last 10 days asking me to check in online for the appointment. Dr. Thurman is excellent. I’ve seen a lot of endocrinologist for past couple of decades (as long time as type 1) and he is hands down the best. I’ve been seeing him for over 5 years now and he continues to have my a1c in the best range it’s ever been. He works with you and makes you feel at ease. It’s clear he understands the practicality of life/health/work balance and is accommodating to that. He’s always current in the latest releases and technology too. On time appointments are important. I've been Dr. Thurmon's patient for many years. Today I just mentioned that the wait was long (more than an hour past appointment) and the first response was "I'm going to retire in 3 years, I'll find you a new doctor." Treatment refused. Nobody wants their doctor to disrespect them. I no longer trust or want him as my doctor. Good riddance.
Horrible Dr.....with out my knowledge he prescribed me a heart medication that I don't even take. Had to tell pharmacy that i did not even take that med. When I told Dr. Thurman about this...he just shrugged it off. He never listened and screwed up on my diabetic meds almost always. The staff is incompetant. The whole group at St. Charles SSM Endo should be dismissed .
