Having seen urologists and having had cystoscopes for 40 years, I have to say the test performed by Dr Stern seemed to be inappropriate. Barely a word spoken, he rammed the instrument moved it around and yanked it out. He said everything was fine, handed me a brochure for a PAE, told me to make an appointment and he and the nurse walked out leaving me sitting there.

Was scheduled for a procedure, since I hadn’t heard anything I thought it best to check in the day before. The person said that it had been cancelled and no reason given.

He might be talented but he is in and out of the room so quick you have no idea what he even said. 3 meetings and maybe the last one lasted a minute or two. First one 30 seconds ! Give your patients some of your time!

First visit he said, 'Your prostate is huge,' prescribed a pill and bolted from the room. Second visit, I was expecting to be scheduled for a procedure like T.U.R.P. based on an MRI. He came in to the room, said, 'You have prostate cancer, bladder cancer and pelvic cancer' said he would make the next appointment and bolted from the room before I could ask a single question. I was shuffled between three locations for four appointments, not too easy for an 84 year old driving from Prescott. Staff and, especially Mika Watanabe ... read more

We arrived 15 minutes prior to appt, waited in waiting room for more than 45mins past appt time before being called back, waited in room for another 75 mins before PA entered, spent 10 mins with PA, and then had to wait another 65 mins for doctor to come in - for all of 3 mins, yes 3 mins! It was horrible - doc explained nothing at all, ordered some bloodwork and was told to schedule another appt, appt was scheduled for 6 weeks out - mind you I already had several tests done and records showing a Grade 3 prolapse that needed... read more

Waited to get in exam room. Finally took me back to exam room where I waited for over an hour. They finally knocked on the door after 5:00 and discovered that they had forgotten me and were CLOSING. Drove 30 minutes wasted 2 hours, never seen anyone. The only thing they did is collect my copay. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL!

After waiting 45 minutes past my scheduled appointment time, I was brought to an exam room where the assistant explained that since there was no test results for ultrasound or PSA, we could not complete the annual scheduled examination. This shuldo have been caught prior to my visit, on either of the two calls I received from the group (Academic Urology & Urogynecology of Arizona). I invested several hours traveling to, preparing for, and arriving early for my appointment only to have to reschedule it a month later. I now hav... read more

Awful, awful, awful experience and I will never go back!! Dirty rooms, long wait times and Dr Stern's bedside manner: it's non-existent!! The office help does not know what they're doing. Fun Fact: Arizona is ranked one 45th in the US for healthcare!! So Dr Stern fits in perfectly and helps those stats! Way to go Dr Stern and Staff - keep up the 'low bar', along with sub-par care!!
