I have a long family history of cardiac issues. Including stroke and sudden death. I spoke to him several times about having spells of feeling weak and shakey. He diagnosed me with anxiety and said it could be low blood sugar, without checking my sugar level and this and that and put me off, made me feel bad/dumb for coming in. Dr. Mattingly has by far the worst bedside manner of any doctor I have been to. If you have a problem and your appointment is 30 minutes long, 25 will be him telling you a story about something unrelated that he just thought of. More than once, he rubbed my arms or legs, which made me insanely uncomfortable. He also said that the APA was not worth listening to. He is very thorough He actually sits down and talks to you He listens to what you are saying. Very personable He is professional but not stuffy
Absolutely fantastic physician. Excellent bedside manner, quick responses to email and text inquiries.
1. Every time I called for an appointment I felt I was bothering the inept, low quality staff/receptionist. 2. Doctor dialog is minimal and you have to draw information from him. 3. Every referral, tests, etc. is to Mercy related locations, services etc., that are the highest cost in the city & their billing is a nightmare. Took a manager 4 months to correct wife's billing! 3. Went to Christ Hosp (previous colon surgery) for urgent care on Dr's offday so he invited me to get a new Dr. I did!
Hands down the best doctor I have ever seen. We started seeing Dr. Mattingly for secondary infertility after learning of his unique method (NaproTechnology) that he practiced. Within just 3 cycles, I was expecting our daughter. He has monitored my hormone levels throughout this entire pregnancy for no cost. He is kind, compassionate, smart and has a sense of humor (all very important features when dealing with infertility). You can tell it's much more than a job to him.
Our family has been going to Dr. Mattingly for 10 years and have been exceptionally happy. He has taken time with each member of our family to discuss our options and listen to our concerns.
