This doctor got my future daughter in law addicted to pain medication and never ran any tests. We took her to U of M and the doctors were horrified by what they found. She has fibermialgia, and the pain medicine that Garfield gave her makes the condition worse. She believed in Garfield so much she went to him for 4 years and put up with his mood swings (if he had a bad day he wouldn't give her any meds) and his inappropriate touching and other things. I recently went to Dr. Garfield knowing that some family see him. My first visit was horrible. No one was concerned with me, they were concerned with a new computer system that took up an hour and a half of time to be seen. After that, no one took my medication information on what I was taking. Or really anything else. I was then given 3 scripts I didn't need but got because I mentioned I was on them. I have been going to Dr. Garfield for years. He is intelligent, helpful, and has a great sense of humor. He is not stuffy, overly-professional and full of himself as doctors tend to be. He will put you at ease with his sense of humor, which is not mainstream.
I think Dr. Garfield is the BEST!! I have been going to him for years and have had no problems with him (expect the people he hires at the front desk- they are the worst!) But get past them and you will be in the best of hands!
I have known Garfield for several years, my entire family sees him. My parents still use him as their primary dr, even though they have moved to Florida. He always sees me at a minutes notice, listens to me and we discuss what protocall we need to use to treat me. I have seen dr.s who do not want to work with you at all and Garfield is not one of those dr.s I would refer him to anyone.
This Dr. is absolutely horrible! I went in with some scares regarding my digestion and a continual bleeding. I went through my scenario with the nurse, then the Dr. He didn't listen to my answers and I did not get an exam. He started writing scripts but not without asking me what medication "I" wanted first. I told him that I would like to avoid the scripts if possible (I received 4). I love Doc. He listen to your concerns and then talks about all the options. His bedside manner is great and I prefer an easy going, good listener type of DR. His office staff could use some matters and most of the staff have changed in the past year.
Sloppy office, tiny rooms, unfriendly staff. Doctor has a cavalier attitude, also wants to hurry along & brush off your concerns.
Dr. Garfield is not very professional. His office needs major updating. When I told him about my concerns he dismissed them as if they weren't valid complaints. Office staff is not that friendly and they have bad phone manners.
