I had had hip pain for over a decade, and began looking for solutions as it became painful to walk. I was 'young' for a hip replacement, and very active, including tumbling and aerial arts. I saw 3 other orthopedists that came highly recommended, who summarily told me I was too young and wouldn't even discuss it. To be clear, I couldn't walk without limping at this time.Dr Bowling was a referral from another doctor, and I didn't hold out much hope. But he spent an hour with me, discussing everything about the hip replacement... read more
Long wait to see Dr Bowling. He is very personable and makes you feel comfortable.
Wife's message sent to Dr. 10 days after total hip replacement. 'Hello Dr. Bowling, Rob had a total hip replacement on 4-11-24. We have had a very difficult time getting a response from your office. Of all the messages we have sent, we have received one portal message and one voicemail. Rob needs to discuss his pain medication situation. He was never prescribed an anti-inflammatory or anticoagulant despite having afib and has now run out of Oxycodone. He has been under a great deal of stress about this lack of contact from y... read more
Other than the wait time, which is pretty much the same at any doctor’s office, the appointment went very well. He explained no X-rays this time to cut down on exposure. He always explains what he’s checking for and what you as the patient should look for. Just a wonderful man to work with.
Everyone very pleasant and helpful. From intake personnel to Doctor to exit, professional.
Explains things extremely well. Doesn't act rushed. Dr Bowling correctly diagnosed my problem and confirmed with MRI.
Dr. Bowling has a wonderful bedside manner and takes care of you as if you were a family member. I've been a happy patient of his for 18 years!
Dr. bowling is the most down-to-earth, compassionate, caring physician that I have ever known. And since I have been in the medical field as a registered nurse, I have a lot of exposure to many Doctors and he is among the best… In Addition to his ethics, kindness, and caring,he has superior skills and expertise in his field. I wish that we could clone him!
Dr Bowling has replaced 6 of my joints…after he did my hips back in 2005-6 I said he would be the only doctor to touch my bones. He has always been on the cutting edge of new techniques such as minimally invasive joint replacements and technology such as robotics to improve surgery. During office visits he has always taken all the time necessary answer questions and explain the procedures. If I lived across the country, I would fly back to to Wilmington to have him operate on me!
