I saw Dr Heikenen for a period in 2017, and was amazed. He is literally not present as a doctor. He speaks his notes into his computer while you are speaking, so does not really listen to what you’re saying. All he ever does is refer you to specialists, but never goes over results. Highly intelligent and knowledgeable doctor. Never misses a beat! Great office staff.
There should be a 0-star category for this man. He angers easily, is rude and obnoxious. He does not listen, but is quick to complain. This is one very unhappy man. Do yourself a favor and avoid him at ALL costs!
Pompous. He doesn't listen and jumps to conclusions. If you even stub your toe, he will send you to numerous specialists (his buddies, I assume) for unnecessary tests. I wonder if he is getting a kickback??? No wonder the cost of medical is going up. On a positive note, he accepts new patients, probably because so many leave. His staff is personable and helpful.
Dr. Heikkenen is not an honest person. He has poor communication skills and is prone to unprofessional behavior including the use of foul language in front of patients and their children. The exam room door is always left open so that patients in the waiting room are able to hear the details of the conversations being held quite clearly. Dr. Heikkenen is always in a rush to get to the next patient and will cut your appointment short to do so. Do not trust this person with your health or data.
He provides no care sends you to other doctors for everything. Horrible attitude and personality.
Called office to establish my 94 year old mother as a new patient. We just moved her to Prescott from Phoenix. Was promised call back in 24-48 hours. They NEVER called back despite the fact that we really needed to have a Prescott doctor see my mother. Our experience mirrors other reviews we have now read about this doctor and office. We found my mother another doctor .
make sure you're the right kind of person. after a huge interview and a week without a response, i called to find out I wasn't acceptable as a patient. I have Medicare and he takes Medicare patients.
I have to agree with (all) the other one star comments. Mr. Heikkenen does not listen to what you have to say. He stops every minute to dictate into his computer. He dictates things that weren't even discussed. He adds and deletes things that were not said. The staff is inadequate and rude. I have not been his patient by my choice and have filled out 4 file transfer requests for my new doctor and they refuse to send them. They sent my new Dr. a blank CD. I would never recommend this man.
