I think Dr. Mattingly is stretched too thin. I agree that appointments are consistently cancelled. When I scheduled visits, I didn't even check my calendar because I knew there was a 95% chance it would be rescheduled, anyway. Appointments were always running behind. I tried early morning times and he was late to those, too. The office staff chuckled and said he was late every morning. So why offer those hours? Appointments were quick and superficial.

Dr. Mattingly is the only psychiatrist able to correctly treat our son. As physicians we highly recommend him. With his help we were able to keep our son at home and have him mentally stable. In addition, when I became sick with fibromyalgia and CFS, he was the only Dr. who comprehended the pain and was open to cutting edge treatments to improve quality of life.

Took my child in for her initial visit. Was trying to relate background information and history to Dr. Mattingly. He talked over me the whole time rather than listening. Prescribed my daughter a new medication, to which she had an adverse reaction. When I called the office back to let them know, the staff said they would get back with me. Called back to say the Dr. wanted her to continue the medicine even though she was having a reaction to it. We discontinued the med and the Dr.

I would love to give a stellar review to this office. If they would stop canceling my son's appointments, perhaps I could. So far, 2 appointments cancelled. The 2nd was a reschedule from the 1st. Next available appointment is March. Absolutely disspointing and aggrevating, to say the least.

Dr. Mattingly is a nice caring man. The help not so much. Doctor added Abilify to my son’s meds. He had a bad reaction. I called to let the doctor know. They said they would call back after talking to him. I had to call again. Someone finally called back. The call dropped. I thought they would call right back. No. I called and they were closed. Called again today and was told the doctor called in a new prescription. Went to pick it up. No prescription. Time is of the essence with mental issues.

I was recently referred by my primary care physician to Dr. Mattingly. When I return for my follow-up visit I will advise her not to refer patients to him in the future. Considering his field of work you would assume that someone reaching out for an appointment would at a minimum receive the courtesy of a return call if for nothing more than to say that he is not taking new patients, if that is the case. I called twice almost 2 weeks ago and never got called back. Poor way to do business

I've been with Dr. Mattingly for over 20yrs. He's been with me through the very worst times and the good times in those 20 yrs. I have a major Depression problem, but with his kindnes and the meds he's tried, and finally found that worked for me, has helped so much. Although I , at first, didn't want to listen. And I found out, if you don't want his gel] don't waste his time. But I knew the help I needed had to come from him. I'd seen too many other Dr.'s who didn't help me. I appreciate him.

Business response:

Hello Pam - Thank you for the nice words regarding Dr. Mattingly... Did you accidently give him one star... All of your other ratings are 4 or more... If you get some time, please correct the rating... Thanks and have a great New Years!

Dr. Mattingly is an excellent doctor. I have been his patient almost as long as he has been in practice. He knows his meds and has kept me going through many hard years. Caring, compassionate, cuts to the chase, very reassuring and always upbeat. If he is having a bad day you will never know it. Glad he is my doctor.

Dr. Mattingly is a great doctor...when you actually get to see him. He cancels most of my appointments. And prescribes almost all of my medications over the phone without talking to me.

Business response:

Thanks for the comments, Paisley... Dr. Mattingly has a demanding schedule with lectures, teaching at Washington U., and seeing patients... Hopefully, staff rescheduled you within a few days of when you were cancelled... Have a great New Years!
