I saw Dr Papp in 1991 for my lower back pain. He recommended a diagnostic test called a Discogram. I was left with a great deal of pain for the next 5 months as a result of the procedure, that prevented me from working during that time. Papp recommended fusing 2 discs in my lower back. I was only 25 at the time, so I sought out several other opinions on the matter from other orthopedics, and they all flatly rejected the idea of fusion surgery.
