I recently had cataract removal surgery in both eyes done by and with Dr. George Yang of the San Jose Eye Institute. After much discussion with Dr. Yang, I decided to go with the Light Adjustable Lens (LAL) replacement lenses. I had surgery on one eye with a light adjustable lens fitted. Dr. Yang was great at explaining what would happen with the surgery and aftercare, and everything went smoothly. One comment I would like to make: I was not aware that scarring is frequent and can be removed easily. My sight was much better initially but then slowly deteriorated, owing to the scarring. Once I had the laser scarring removal, my distance sight is now as good as the other eye with a contact lens. I can now drive in the dark again with confidence.
Dr. George Yang has been treating me for dry eyes and glaucoma as part of my overall eye care. He is intelligent and highly attentive to my needs and concerns before tailoring treatment and then spends lots of his time explaining my choices and what will likely happen going forward. I am so glad he is my ophthalmologist!
I had cataract surgery and chose to get the Light Adjustable lens for my left eye. Dr. Yang and his entire staff were and continue to be extremely helpful, professional and friendly. I had the procedure done at the Peninsula Eye Surgery Center, which also was an extremely pleasant experience, since that is all that is done at the Center. I would highly recommend Dr. Yang for getting care for your eyes, and give him and his entire staff a 10+ !!!
