I had a L4-L5 microdiscectomy done by Dr. Button almost six years ago (when I was 44) after INTENSE right leg pain and foot numbness. After weeks of having to lie face-down flat on the bed all day (after P.T. and a steroid shot failed to alleviate the disc bulge), I opted for surgery. While Dr. Button doesn't have the best bedside manner, he is extremely knowledgeable and experienced. I had back problems that he helped me resolve. New x-rays and an injection of steroids have changed my life. The nurse who assisted told me he was very highly regarded, as far as being extremely competent. I've had doctors who had better personalities but less knowledge. I know which one I'd rather have.
Very unhelpful person not even going to call this man a doctor because, he dose not deserve to be called a doctor. He's a very rude man with a huge ego. Will not listen to you. Just scims through your chart notes real quick and thinks he knows everything about you and, your situation. I would never trust this man with a scalpel in my body!
He treats his staff and nurses as poorly as he treats his patients.
I broke my hip while on vacation. Dr. Button replaced it. He spent a total of about five minutes with me in the hospital and was absent from my follow-up appointment. My ortho surgeon at home thought the hip had been inserted at an incorrect angle. Three months later, the hip popped out of joint, an excruciatingly painful occurrence. I am now recovering from a second hip replacement surgery, which has been a longer and more difficult process than the first.
Dr. Button made me feel like I was a complete waste of his time. He has no bedside manor at all. I have been suffering from a back injury for 11 months and was hoping for more of an in-depth and caring review of this journey and also for a little hope. If you don't mind being treated like a distraction then this doctor may work for you.
