I had a very disappointing experience during my recent visit to a dermatology practice and feel it’s important to share. Upon check-in, the front desk staff informed me that I had a $6,000 deductible that had not been met. I knew this was incorrect and explained that my insurance plan does not include a deductible. I have been seeing Dr. Kerdel since late last year and the medical care has been fine. However, my most recent visit was incredibly unprofessional. I was shadowed by a student nurse assistant (Olga). Despite my 20-year history with chronic eczema, she made several unprovoked and insensitive comments, telling me mine was 'the worst skin she’s ever seen.'
