Great surgeon and wonderful bedside manner.
About nine years ago I was referred to Dr. Sevansma after experiencing a belllyache. After a quick scan he informed me I had diverticulitis. He suggested I have my large colon removed "just in case I had another episode". I refused this drastic surgery and have never had another such problem. What gives here???
My GP sent me to Sevensma for an abnormal looking area on my breast. He did not do a physical exam, he did not ask when I had last had a mammogram. He peered at it and said there is nothing to worry about you are good to go. Two and a half months later, I found a tumor in that very area. I had a biopsy and it was indeed malignant. Thank heavens I found the tumor and had it removed. Dr. Sevensma's cavalier attitude could have cost me my life.
