Just recently did my annual and as always it was a great experience. I was among the first group of patients when Dr. Lam opened his office. Very professional, kind, and attentive listener, and the best part, he does care. Very busy office, but Dr. Lam manages to ensure the needs are met. I say that because Hawai'i is experiencing a shortage of doctors and other medical professionals. It is confusing that people who criticize do not even see that and take that into consideration. The office staff is completely incompetent. I called on December 13th to schedule an appointment before the end of the year to maximize my insurance benefits. They assured me they could fit me in, took my insurance information, and promised to call back to finalize the appointment. It’s now December 20th, and I’ve yet to receive a call. Great doctor and very flexible, so happy to have him as my primary care doctor. 😊 It took me a long time to find someone that I like and does not make me feel rushed. I feel well informed when I leave his office and would highly recommend him to anyone in need of a great doctor.
When Dr was told to make referrals, we constantly had to follow up again again and again to get it done. We know this clinic is very busy but the timeliness of the referrals made out disrupts appointment making with specialists. Front desk people did not seem confident about what kind of referrals or authorizations needed to be made (based on dr’s notes?) very unhappy with these experiences
“I’m so sorry, Dr. Lam is really behind schedules today” after one hour of waiting time. I mean why the heck you called me to booked an appointment while you already packed with patients on that day?
