I am a fellow surgeon who traveled from FL to Johns Hopkins such that Dr. McFarland could do my total shoulder arthroplasty. His knowledge, bedside manner and results speak for themselves. There is no better surgeon for shoulder replacement surgery.

I cannot recommend Dr. McFarland highly enough. He fixed a complex problem caused by another doctor’s mistakes. Dr. McF’ explains diagnoses clearly & patiently. Post-op followup is excellent. Another reason to recommend: His staff is also superb.
Dr. McFarland was polite, professional, personable and extremely knowledgeable. He provided valuable advice on the condition of my shoulder, shoulder replacement surgery, and how to mitigate further damage until a time when surgery may be necessary. Kiosk check in was user friendly a short wait time.

Dr McFarland is a great surgeon, from my experiences with him he really cares about his patients. My guess is he's one of if not the best shoulder surgeon in this country, I say that because while waiting for surgery I met some people that had flown in from Egypt for surgery with him. I had surgery 16 years ago and as they rolled me back in a very busy operating area (John Hopkins Hosptal) he marked my surgery shoulder with a number 1 and walked in as to say we are the number 1 surgery team. He is pretty prompt , kind and professional. His Colleagues speak highly of him. His reputation is stellar. Can not expect anything more.
