I do not recommend Dr. Matey for your sports athlete. My 15 yr old was experiencing knee pain. From looking at the MRI, he determined he needed to repair her meniscus and perform a lateral release of her kneecap. I trusted he knew what was best, but now wish I had gotten a second opinion. We returned after surgery b/c she was in more pain than before. He looked at the updated MRI and declared that his surgery was a success and she was fixed. I have had total knee replacement both for my knees. My experience with Dr. Matey was fantastic. Have had no trouble with either of my knee replacement. I would highly recommend him.
Dr. Matey & his staff are very professional. I have undergone a recent Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty two months ago, am back at work & doing very well. His expertise is amazing.
I feel like Dr. Mattie was unprofessional when he laughed at me when I told him the first injection did not work on my right hip which has severe osteoarthritis. He told I didn’t need a hip replacement but that I should seek another opinion . I felt degraded ! He then asked me if wanted to try a second injection ? I said okay which was a mistake because I now have a $368.00 bill from him . Not only that I had to wait a month to see someone else and am now on a walker .
