Last year on 10/13 I was hit by a car [as a pedestrian] and rushed to Suburban hospital. I was pretty banged up: right tibia broken, pelvis cracked, and skull fractured. Those were dark days [for everyone else, I don't remember the first 7 weeks]. My Glascow Coma Scale was 3, which is as low as it goes. Dr. Shields was the neurosurgeon in charge, and after they removed the first piece of my skull to no avail he decided "Why not take out two?".
