Dr. McGowan comes across as being very polite. Immediately after my surgery (spinal fusion) his demeanor changed. For pain control I was given acetaminophen through an I.V. I laid in pain for 16 hours until a different surgeon checked on me. My fusion failed and I have had more pain than I did prior to surgery. He refused to help me with pain control. Doctor McGowan is by far the best Orthopedic Surgeon I have ever seen. He takes the time to care for his patients. He is a very caring and compassionate Doctor. He is not just there for the money. He really cares about his patients, we are people not just a paycheck.
I am very pleased with the care I have received from Dr. He knows what he is doing and he does I well. Very caring and compassionate. I tried to die on him twice in surgery and he wouldn't let me.. I absolutely love Dr.McGowan

Dr McGowan was an amazing doctor. He literally saved my son's life. We'd enthusiastically refer any friend or family member to see Dr. McGowan.
I have been seeing Dr. McGowan for many years now. He is a great man and an awesome surgeon. I have always had good luck with his care. He even saved my life twice when I died on the operating table no fault in any way his. He has always tried different things and surgery is always the last thing he does. I have never had a bad experience and he will always be my Dr. He is a very busy man but well worth the wait you have to sit sometimes. He takes the time to listen and he is very caring.
Although I'm thankful that Dr. McGowan's initial surgery probably saved my life, the second one is still taking its toll on me and since I refuse to take any drugs or steroids I live in chronic pain 24/7. Other doctors tell me it was due to the way the surgery was performed --- too invasive and too many nerves damaged beyond hope of being repaired. I should have gone to Omaha or Lincoln for the 2nd surgery, but I had trusted him after the initial surgery. He promised complete healing -- not so.
he is a great doctor he and his staff always follow up on procedures done and he don't just go cutting on people for insurance money
I first saw Dr. McGowan in the hospital. He has great bedside manners and he cares about his patients. He treats us like people and not a number. He is a caring physician and he is good at what he does. I was in terrible pain and when he did his procedure the biggest majority of my pain was gone.
