From my experience, it is difficult get ahold of the office and most often the calls are forwarded to an answering service (during hours of operation) and unfortunately they can't make appointments, follow up on tests, etc. There was an instance where I kept trying to call and was told by the answering service to try again in 10 minutes. I called back twice in a span of 45 minutes and was told again to try again in 10 minutes. I am new to the area and needed a gastroenterologist. I was referred to Dr. Mukahopadhyay. He is through, efficient but also very warm and reassuring. My procedure was completed, I had a follow up appointment and my results were discussed. I was very happy and would highly recommend him. Just a lovely man.
He is very kind and answered all questions. He really took the time to explain options of the recommended treatment plan.
The day of my appointment, Dr. Mukhopadhyay didn't bother to look at my medical record, which, as a new patient, I was told to provide. He didn't even know why I was there in the first place. He asked me several questions about my medical history and current state, but interrupted me after nearly every question I attempted to answer. He was overall very dismissive and inattentive. Dr. Mukhopadhyay has been my doctor for over 10 years and I have always had a very positive experience with the level of care I received. I have also found his staff to be extremely helpful and courteous.
While the office staff is not the friendliest, Dr. Mukhopadhyay is very kind. I asked a million questions and he answered all of them so I could understand. He even made a personal phone call so that I could get an appointment with a surgeon quicker. I would definitely go to him again if I needed to.
Colonoscopy went well, 45 min. Patient prep, 1 hour from start to going home. I've had this procedure done from early early 1980's with many providers. Dr. M was right up there with the best.
