Very through. Easy to discuss health issues. Full confidence in him.
Dr. Amos was very throrough during my exam. He answered all of my questions and addressed my concerns. He has a dry sense of humor which my be why other have made comments. As a dermatologist I would highly recommend him! His pa Tricia is phenomenal as well!
Dr at upmc gave me some lotion for psoriasis. Went to dr amos when lotion did not work. He I mmdiately found it as shingles. treated it successfully. Complained to upmc about first doctor. Not even a reply. Just a bill!
A wasted visit. I went for hair loss, cyst on eyelid and blackhead in ear. Dr. Boots, a PA, not a Dermatologist, diagnosed me from 3 ft away. I had to ask her to look as specific things. She apparently didn't want to treat me. She insinuated I was crazy because she couldn't find the cyst and actually put a mirror in my face and said "do you see anything?". Confirming the blackhead, she refused to remove it because it would come back and need to be surgically removed. Overly confident.
I do not see Dr. Amos anymore. I see his associate Dr. Boots. Dr. Amos has no compassion or tact. When I found out I had melanoma he basically told me that the drugs wouldn't work and I was a guiney pig for the drug companies. No compassion. But I love Dr. Tricia Boots. She is amazing.
Dr. Amos couldn't care less for the well-being of his patients. I waited in his waiting room for a very long time and he cut me short during the appointment. I wouldn't go this dermatologist again. If I had to recommend a treatment for acne care, I'd advise acne sufferers not to go to Dr. Amos. It can be almost implied from the previous statements that Dr. Amos is most likely in it for the money and is looking forward to retirement. Go to an aesthetician.
I was treated with disrespect, he felt my psychiatric status was in question. I had contracted shingles around my eye. Because there was cross-contamination he didn't want to diagnose me with shingles. I had high blood pressure and was stressed to the point that I had a hard time explaining what was going on with me I w/out crying. He discussed shingles but wouldn't give the diagnoses of shingles. I was told by his nurse I needed to see a specialist and he couldn't help me. ?!What do you think?!
