Had my initial consultation with Dr. Brandt this morning, and I must say I am impressed. My previous rheumatologist was retiring after seeing me for more than 20 years, and had sent over my records to the office. What surprised me is that Dr. Brandt actually reviewed the records and was familiar with my long history. Props to him and his very friendly office staff, especially since many patients are in the same situation as I am, scrambling for a new specialist after our long-time doctors retire. Dr Brandt may be a fine rheumatologist, but with front office staff like he currently has, many people may never know. His receptionist is rude and confrontational, and makes you feel like you are bothering her by simply existing in her world. She should be ashamed of herself for speaking to patients the way she does, but with an attitude like that, I'm sure she's not.
I have been seeing Dr. Brandt for over a year now. At first he was very business-like in our visits. After a couple of visits, I wasn’t sure if he was the right rheumatologist for me as I thought he wasn’t hearing what I was saying. I persisted and continued with him and now I am so glad I did because he does actually listen and remembers patient’s specific situations and will do what he thinks is right for you.
