The only reason I am still with this PCP is because of the office staff and the NP’s and PA’s that work with him. I absolutely dread going into an annual physical to see him in person due to him being so rude and condescending. This dr has zero patience and makes me feel super down after speaking with him. Does not care. Needs to retire. I feel terrible for the individuals that have to work with him on a daily basis.
My Husband had a scheduled appointment for a yearly check up with new insurance and the front desk was very rude and did not honor his appointment. Now he is refusing to make another appointment due to the incompetence of the front desk clerk and I am not happy with how this was handled.
It used to be a caring place that actually cared for their patients, I got sent to work out of state for 2yrs and I can't make a Dr.s appointment so now my Dr's nurse tells me they will not renew my BP prescription when I ask her what I'm supposed to do about my BP rising because I'm out of my meds, she said sorry can't help you. Si then I ask what happens when I have a heart attack or stroke she hangs. I'm 75 miles from know where no dr. office's. Really pisse's me off they can't do something till I get back home.
My husband and I, along with our 3 children just started seeing Dr. Coulter and we all like him a lot. He took his time with all 3 of my young children. He was thorough, very easy to talk to, we were not rushed, and it was easy for us to make appointments that accommodated my whole family. Very good choice for a family doctor.
It used to be that going to see doctor Coulter was a good experience. You felt like you were getting the care you needed along with the kindness that comes along with it. Now it honestly gives me a stomach ache to call (most of the time I get no call back) and when I go in I have to deal with his finger pointing condescending know it all staff. It's a shame. After 20 years I'm actually looking for a new doctor. What a shame.
Dr. Coulter has been my doc for over 20 years. In that time he has caught things that could have led to major problems for me and addressed them well. He is always up front and honest, never condescending, when helping me improve my health through his advice and recommendations. Never rushes through my visits, either. I always have and continue to recommend him to my friends and family.
I've become increasingly frustrated with this doctor and his practice. He seems like a kind, caring professional but I am disappointed in him and his practice. First, he forced me to reschedule my annual exam two years in a row even though I had scheduled it three-to-four weeks in advance because he decided to go on vacation. Then, during the physical, he prescribed a medicine based on labs obtained at the the previous year's physical (ie. year-old numbers).
This was my primary doc. He seemed to care but after having pneumonia and never receiving the mess he prescribed to me I called his office to find out why. I talked to three different girls whom all said it's not their department. I finally asked for the manager but was never sent to her. Only another girl who says it's not my department. End result.....I had to get over my sickness on my own. I hope he never knew about this! I could not speak to him either. Wonder what their jobs are??
I experienced that Dr. Coulter had two personalities. He was either happy or complaining about the patient that he had just seen. Dr. Coulter has no respect for people who are on the Healthy Michigan Plan. He even went as far one day to explain how Chrysler spent thousands of dollars on Nexium just because their insurance would pay for it. On my appointment time he would even talk about his wife's medical problems; not limited to her smoking. I have walked out of his office in tears many time
