I've been a patient of Dr. Zeller's for 5 years and highly recommend. I've felt rushed in the past with other psychs but he takes his time and I don't ever feel rushed. He is empathetic and supportive and has a great way of explaining behaviors and medications. He makes me feel like we are a team working together to treat my depression and anxiety.
Dr. Zeller is a wonderful doctor. The thing with any doctor, especially a mental health specialist, is that your personalities have to click. That has happened with Zeller and I. He speaks in metaphors, he explains the chemical processes of the illness, he provides great constructive criticism, and he even throws in some psycho-therapy into the mix. Dr. Zeller has been a phenomenal help to me. I have treatment resistant depression, and he has been working very openly with me in an extensive manner to provide therapy and help me find psychiatric medications that will actually improve my quality of life. He is a very thoughtful and understanding therapist, and I've experienced several "Whoa, I never thought of it that way" moments in our appointments that are slowly guiding my thinking into a stronger, more confident, healthier place.
I am a previous patient of Dr. Zeller. I paid $300 for an initial evaluation in May 2, 2018. In Summer 2018, I had to travel out of town for business. Unfortunately, I received a call from Dr. Zeller who politely requested I "find another physician" because I was not available to make an appointment until I got back from my travels. He dropped me immediately from his clientele with no referral or prescription refill. I can't help but feel I have been haggled for money, and left with nothing.
Terrible experience- recently moved to Colorado looking for a new Psychiatrist; the woman who answered the phone made it clear that he would take new patients only if they met the requirements. Understandable, so I went through a 45-minute phone intake that made it clear he wanted to know How wealthy I was (very, but i declined to answer those questions as I dont see how relevant it is. THen they promised a response one way or another within a few days- got nothing back. Horrible service.
I feel my experience with Dr. Zeller was damaging to my mental health and regret having seen him. His side comments as I explained my situation came off as judgmental and lacked understanding or empathy. He was uncommunicative with any kind of advice or explanations by the end of the session and seemed visibly uncomfortable after some time which made me feel uneasy.
Listens well and lets patient make the decisions based on his recommendations, feedback.
I am very pleased with Dr Zeller. He listens, questions and tries to better understand how he can best treat me. It is true that generally he has 45 minutes to assess me but if I need more time, he gives it to me. He has prescribed medications that perfectly cover my problems. I am very amazed at how wise he understands me.
