Dr. Smythies was horrible. I saw him today and he was very dismissive, told me he disagreed with the radiologist assessment of my MRI. He said there was nothing wrong with me. Made me feel like I was crazy. Had no compassion, didn’t want to talk, and I felt like I was taking up his time.
Dr. Smythies performed a cervical fusion (C6-C7) on me for an exploded disc back in Oct 2001 when he was based out of the VMC in Renton. It instantly relieved all pain (golf ball sized "cramp" under the right shoulder blade). He performed a 2nd cervical fusion on me for an imploded disc in May 2004. It stopped the continued loss of feeling, strength & coordination I'd been experiencing. At the time, he warned me that I still had one more bulging disc. This is most rude uncompasionate human I have ever seen, let alone doctor. Took my daughter here and he said why are you here? Did not look at medical records. Did not listen about 2 different brain tumors, hydrocephalus, chiari malformation, or her numerous spinal tumors. You can't make up this experiance. Will say everyone else in office was wonderful.
I had surgery on my c5,6 vertebrae by Dr a number of years ago. He, first and foremost did a wonderful job rebuilding my vertebrae. I found him to be extremely informative and compassionate. I will return to him with any other problem.
If I could give zero stars for my experience yesterday I would. I've never been to any doctors office, where there's no empathy, patience, or understanding for the patients until this visit. I have had 3 MRI's, that have detailed results for them, and they were completely ignored. I was told by Dr. Christopher Smythie, that there's nothing he could do to help or fix my issues, as if I was nothing. All the while I'm visibly in pain, shaking, trembling, and crying.
