I had a huge kidney stone which lodged in my urethra, causing tremendous pain. Dr. Marinakis tried lithotripsy first, with no result and then had to use a laser to break up the stone. He was great and I feel very fortunate to have had his expertise. Great guy too. Served in the Army as an Apache helicopter pilot, with several deployments!!
Dr. Marinakis was very thorough and listened to what I had to say. I did not feel rushed or dismissed in my care. Highly recommend!!!
Dr. Marinakis saved my life! In 2017 I had outpatient surgery by my OBGYN of 30 years from another state. When I returned to my home in the Boone/Banner Elk area, my husband took me to the ER in Boone because I was in much pain. Dr. Marinakis was the Urologist on call. Dr Marinakis was very thorough and interested in helping me with my problem. After explaining my treatment options, I tried medication which didn't do much. I then had bladder sling surgery and no longer have to wear pads or worry about bladder accidents in public. Very satisfied!
Very helpful and professional
While I'm not leaving a comment based on a personal experience, I think that it's crucial to do so. My Mom is 94 years young, and is in exceptional health; considering all that she's endured. She is my rock, especially given the fact that she's a two time bladder cancer survivor. I can say w/certainty that she has done so well, due in large part; to Dr. Marinakis! I hope and pray she continues to thrive, and perhaps some day; I can thank Dr. Marinakis in person.
