Dr. Groat agreed to treat me, an elderly patient with a medically complex condition. He performed two successful cornea transplants on me. Dr. Groat is pleasant and patiently takes time to thoroughly address questions and concerns. The entire staff is outstanding, knowledgeable, compassionate and helpful. I highly recommend Dr. Groat and his staff!

On May 21, 2024, I arrived for a 2:15 appointment for an annual eye exam with Dr. Groat. Two examinations by employees of Dr. Groat were completed. After these examinations, my pupils were dilated in preparation for an eye examination to be performed by Dr. Groat. I was taken to an examination room before 3:00 p.m.I waited in that examination room for over Ninety minutes while, I believe, Dr. Groat met with a sales representative (based on what I heard trough the examination room wall). At 4:40 p.m., when Dr. Groat entered the ... read more

I had 2 cataract surgeries in 2023 by Dr. Groat. The first went eye surgery was successful but during the 2nd eye surgery Dr. Groat sliced (his words) my cornea. It was not mentioned in the surgical notes other than the fact that he placed a contact bandage. When I asked him at my 2nd post op whether the slice would heal perfectly, his comment was, 'I don't know. I'm not perfect. Are you perfect?' He also told me that it was my fault that he sliced my eye because I moved my eye. After surgery I developed double vision in tha... read more

IT HAS BEEN SEVERAL MONTHS SINCE MY LAST VISIT. DR. GROAT DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB OF RESOLVING A SEVERE ISSUE WITH MY LEFT EYE. I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO LOSE MY SIGHT, BUT HIS TALENT, EDUCATION, AND DETERMINATION PAID OFF. I AM FOREVER GRATEFUL. HE IS A VERY CARING PERSON. HIS ENTIRE STAFF IS JUST SIMPLY OUTSTANDING.

Very unprofessional, rude and insensitive to my concerns after my not so successful cataract surgery

I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Groat. He was very detailed in explaining expectations, risks and outcomes. He listened to all my concerns, answered all my questions and was very patient through the entire process. I highly recommend Dr Groat to anyone needing eye surgery!

I had a laser procedure for YAG OS. Dr. Groat was very professional and explained the procedure in layman's terms. I was very pleased with my appointment. The staff was great as well.

He has absolutely no time for his patients. He was late for every appointment and every surgery. He rushes in to do a quick exam, and you have to literally stop him from leaving to ask a question. Today at my final appointment, he basically said that the reason my outcome was poor was due to prior LASIK surgery, and I needed to see an optometrist for glasses. Instead I am going to get a second opinion. Definitely stay away from him!

I think he is probably a good doctor....however he is always in a RUSH. I feel he needs to slow down and LISTEN to his patients a little more. He did cataract surgery on me and yes everythng about the surgery went good....I am thankful for this...but I told him I wanted to be able to read road signes with the new lens implants...I was already accustomed to reading glasses.... but that is NOT what I ended up with. I still can not see road signs until really close but I can read without glasses close up .... the complete oppos... read more
