After moving here my previous surgeon Dr. Vrionis referred me to Dr. Guiott. I was nervous after reading reviews - but how many satisfied people take the time to compliment versus unsatisfied people who are quick to complain!? I am thoroughly pleased with Dr. Guiott - he is intelligent, highly skilled and compassionate. Scheduling could be better - but that has improved! My surgery was a complete success! Don't let the negative reviews detour you! He is highly respected in his field!

First visit was a 3 and one half hour wait - 2 hours in the waiting room then an hour and a half in the exam room. Numerous apologies by the nurse. When he finally came in it was 6 pm and he looked tired. I wasn't impressed. I did return a second time after getting a MRI at his request. He didn't confirm that my previous fusion had failed and wanted to do another fusion above the previous and also suggested another surgery to separate vertebrate near my neck that fused naturally over time.

I had a terrible surgical experience with Dr. Guiot. He implanted a shunt that massively over-drained and that he later referred to as a "basic garden hose." He ended up having to remove it, but accidentally left what he described as a "fragment" of the shunt in me. Had to have another surgery to remove what ended up being seven inches of shunt tubing. Tried to schedule post op follow up in his office and was told he was too busy to see me.

Extremely poor experience with Dr. Guiot's office. Two-hour wait for my 83-year old father in the waiting room, resulting in him sitting in urine-soaked underwear, bungled X-rays, zero follow up despite multiple calls to the office asking for a response. Felt that the support staff (NP Carol, etc.) were friendly enough but unmotivated and unprofessional, going so far as to give us misinformation regarding when my Dad might be seen. Avoid at all costs.

I suffered a major infection after surgery with Dr. Guiot and my pain never improved. He never saw me afterwards and now I need surgery by another dr. to do the job right. Wish I had researched his infection rates and chosen a more proficient surgeon.
