The facility is good. But like previous reviews the waiting is bad 1 hour and plus. They only have one or two dentist for about 20 patients at a time. It doesn’t matter what time of the day you come. Even if you have appointments they take more than an hour (ridiculous). Looks like they have too many patients and don’t manage the time right. I’ve visited this office twice and unfortunately had disappointing experiences both times. My most recent appointment was scheduled for 2:30 PM for a routine cleaning. I arrived early and was not seen until around 4:00 PM. At my first visit, I waited nearly four hours. Long wait times have been consistent in my experience. The dental hygienist was kind and the cleaning itself that visit was fine. However, my interaction with Dr. B was uncomfortable. They NEVER answer the PHONE they always send your call directly to a voice mail answering system during normal business hours and what is the point of having or making an appointment, you wait over an HOUR almost 2 Hours anyway because they ALWAYS over-book over schedule patients, it's all about the money, you are just another number from the moment you walk in, if you go to this place go prepared with a huge book to read for entertainment because you WILL be waiting a VERY LONG Time.

My first visit was great. I was seen by Dr. Houman Baratian, and he was amazing — very professional, thorough, and my cleaning was done perfectly. I felt confident in his care. On my second visit, I saw a different doctor at the same office, and the experience wasn’t as good. He didn’t seem very attentive and quickly suggested replacing my crown without properly checking the issue. I had an extremely frustrating and concerning experience with Modern Dental in Torrance, related to loose dental implants and misrepresentation of warranty coverage. On January 15, 2026, I called Modern Dental and spoke with a staff member named Nathan to confirm whether my dental implants came with a lifetime warranty.
