My dad had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Shanbhag during my two visits. He arrived late to the appointment and showed zero empathy, rushing through our time together. Despite being in severe pain, he pushed cash-based services without regard for his situation.During my dad’s second visit, I desperately tried to get an earlier appointment, calling his office multiple times for my dad. When I couldn’t reach him, my dad reached out to Dr Shanbhag’s father, a family friend, hoping for assistance. Instead of understand... read more

He needs to listen to patients and where THEY say it hurts!!Using a PA, who spent 3mins with results and then giving recommendations??? Really???Also, did you even bother to look at a BC patient that had LATs done??? No and neither did your PA!!!! You also ordered an array of tests, what about the patients knees????You ASSUMED, as you documented, that your patient only used opioids for pain when in fact they used Ladicaine roll on and also did not use a TENs unit (you ordered an unneeded one and tried to charge it off)You or... read more

I have been dealing with leg and back pain for years and also suffer from Restless Leg Syndrome which was aggravated by the pain in my legs and back. Dr. Shanbhag has been working with me trying many different medications to no avail. He then ordered a multitude of diagnostic testing including, x-rays and MRI’s. Once he reviewed the results he determined that he would do medicated injections in my back. Once this treatment started I finally have relief from the chronic pain. I want to thank the doctor and his staff for givin... read more

Dr Shanbhag, after serving 20 years in the Navy, I have never seen my wife treated so badly by a pain doctor. 1st visit he know what was wrong with my wife's back. before looking at any MRI. $2,300.00 treatments to tighten the bands in her back. 2 Surgeon opinions later L4 L5 need to be fused to help her functionality. Made my PTSD come out. African American review.

Doctor was rude and sarcastic. He ordered several expensive and unnecessary tests without explaining them. He also prescribed several expensive and unnecessary forms of pain relief before any diagnostic imaging was done. I did not ask for these pain relief options and when I asked if they would help with recovery or just with pain, he talked extremely quickly and vaguely before pushing me out. luckily the staff was helpful and I will be seeing a different doctor going forward. It seems even the people working for him know he... read more

Do not see him- trust the reviews. He is careless and unprofessional.

Horrible! Do NOT see this person unless you want to be abused and berated! There are far too many good physicians who honor and respect their patients. Not worth the time or money; I’d rather be in severe PAIN!

Dr. Shanbagh recommends the same test and treatment for every patient. X-rays, MRI, EMG, brace, laser, injection. It does not matter what you are there for. Also, if your original pain changes minimally he refuses to see you until you get the same tests again. Talks so fast you cannot comprehend what he is saying. Do not recommend and will not return.
