Dr M is fantastic! Very caring, compassionate and thorough! Asks many questions and goes over all details. He is an outstanding Urologistt and I have high confidence in his skills.

Dr Meraney is everything the other reviewers say. However, he is less pleasant if you disagree, or seek a second opinion. In 2016 I told him I wanted to go to Massachusetts General for a second opinion because they use a bladder sparing technique they had already used successfully for 30 or more years at the time. He said, direct quote, “Any hospital that disagrees with me is inferior.” And gave me his take on how much more likely I was to die. He was sincere. Dr. Meraney took time to explain his assessment of my condition and also to discuss various options including pros and cons. Dr. Meraney presents as if he genuinely cares.
My husband has been dealing with a very unique type of bladder cancer and we were referred to Dr Meraney for a consultation. He was really concerned about how my husband and i were dealing with a cancer diagnosis then proceeded to explain in great detail what all of our treatments options were clearly and concisely in a way that was understandable and made sense. Well I don't know if anybody else is nervous but I was and he the doctor came direct at me and he didn't hold anything back that's why I appreciate him. Plus he has a bedside manner he tries to put a smile on your face without you knowing.
The visit was a pleasant one. The staff was very polite and friendly. The doctor was courteous and provided answers to all my questions and concerns and his explanations were easily understood.
I like that they moved my appointment location from Hartford, CT to Avon, CT. This was my annual follow-up appointment. All my results were great and I am now 10 years Cancer free!
