Over 25 years I have been using a cane, renting a scooter to go on vacation, wheel chair to get around Disneyland, could not navigate stairs, shots and pain pills. Problem is not with the doctor but with some front office staff. When inaccuracies were found in my records and tried to correct with Christine?, started getting attitude as if we were wasting her time. After that it was clear that each subsequent contact would not get good cooperation, even with the task of getting insurance authorization for prescription. No way to complain to doctor and seem to get office manager's voice mail repeatedly. What's the alternative? find another doctor whose front office understands that ... read more

Well, I am still waiting to hear back from the Lakewood Orthopedic office so I can come in. It seem that it takes an Act of Congress to get an appointment! Why is it so difficult to be seen in this day and age. Just doesn't seem like doctors care anymore.

I was referred to Dr. Andrew Wassef for treatment of osteoarthritis in my knee by another Dr. I hold in high regard. On my initial visit my knees were X-rayed. Dr. Wassef discussed the X-rays with me and asked me very good and pertinent questions about my condition and my goals. One thing (of many) that stuck with me is when Dr. Wassef told me he is treating me not my X-rays. I saw Dr Combs a year ago. It took 6 weeks to get an appointment. I told him I had pain in my right gluteus muscle that moved into my hip, not down into my leg. He sent me for an MRI and I couldn't schedule the follow up until after the MRI report was completed. Two weeks later (after an "urgent" referral for the MRI, the IPA authorization, test and report done), I called for the follow-up appt. It took another 6 weeks for THAT appointment. If it were not for Dr. Andrew Wassef I would be in a wheelchair. He told me he had never had a patient like me - both fake hips infected at the same time, plus a fungus and the infection on the right hip. To clear up the whole mess required four (4) surgeries and most of 2014!!
