Dr. Moazzez was the BEST Bariatric Surgeon! He is timely; patient; knowledgeable; caring and informative. However the Staff is HORRIBLE! There is ABSOLUTELY no Follow through. Don't think speaking with the office manager is going to change anything because it doesn't. GOOD luck if she makes time to call you back and listens with empathy although she is NOT going to do nothing about it. Dr. Moazzez performed my gastric-bypass surgery a year ago, and I've lost 145 pounds: almost 100% of my excess weight. I never imagined I'd be here so soon. I got here thanks to his and his team's support. I have anecdotes - about the front office staff, nurse practitioner, nutritionist, exercise physiologist, counselor and Dr. Moazzez - all going beyond the call of duty to help me along this not-so-easy path. This is a very busy practice and, yet, they're always there in extraordinary ways.
Poor communication with haphazard scheduling and false promises. The staff is not responsive to communications and uncaring as to the severity of the condition. I had requested the removal of a lap band on the grounds that it was causing me to throw up in my sleep (potentially fatal) and other less fatal complaints. My insurance said that this was a "Prior Approval" case and this office failed to even provide the requested medical documents for the insurance to cover it. Unethical & disgusting.

My review is more for Dr. Moazzez's office. The surgeon seems like a qualified professional (surgery planned, not completed yet). But, his staff is AWFUL. Honestly, the worst medical office experience of my life. They are aggressive, oftentimes rude, and thus far unable to help with any question about my account, insurance, appointments, etc that I ask. I've seriously considered putting my health on hold to avoid having to work with an office of apparently incapable people.
I've only met him once for my initial consultation and he came off as friendly and approachable. This review is mainly regarding his office staff. I would give 1 star for his staff, but I don't want to hurt his stats, especially since he's had to work very hard to get where he is. That being said, the first time I came to the office, the guy up front was watching sports on his computer right in front of me, like I wasn't there. He is extremely friendly and very down to earth. Has a great bedside manner! He went over a lot of information about my surgery beforehand. He appreciated my concerns of anethesia and did his best to calm me down thinking I wouldnt come out of the surgery. An overall great person. Would definitely recommend to anyone else looking at having bariatric surgery.
