Told me I had COPD and prescribed medication for it,-I even started getting COPD junk mail ultimately -when I only had allergies. Makes me never want to see a dr again.
We love our doctor and the staff, but Optum has AWFUL billing practices. I’ve had so many problems with the billing company being used - they’re incredibly negligent and dishonest. They double bill, and they just sent me to collections for a bill that was already paid in full. It’s not worth it, save yourself the headache.
Optum is everything that is wrong with American healthcare PS. Let me clarify it is not the doctors or staff that are the issue it is the glorified middle man that is optum and their defunct organizational skills that are the issue. Optum only serves a wall to accurate and timely care from providers.
The doctors are amazing, but the billing practices are horrific. I constantly receive bills that have already been paid, and was even sent to collections for a bill my insurance paid months prior and that I had written proof both from the insurance and OPTUM, but they still sent it to collections. I cannot tell you how many times I call and they say "whoops let me clear that up for you" just to either receive the same bill AGAIN a month later or worse-yet, sent to collections AGAIN. Dr Kathleen Nitcher went against patient records and parental consent for vaccines (or at least she tried to). My wife has taken our daughter to see Dr. Nitcher a few times. My wife and I decided that our daughter doesnt need the flu vaccine. It was marked in her record. I took our daughter to the doctor for her 15month check up and Dr Nitcher stated that she needed 3 vaccines without offering what types they were.
