One morning in March of this year I found myself in the Cottage ER, where I was informed I was having a heart attack. At that point my bad luck turned to good: I was placed in the hands of cardiac surgeon Dr. Alan Malki. Dr. Malki explained what was to happen and why, invited my questions, and patiently answered my concerns. His manner was calm and reassuring. I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Malki and his team. We are fortunate to have this highly-regarded surgeon here in Santa Barbara.
Dr. Alan Malki performed a quadruple bypass on me February 10th. Before surgery, his explanation was clear and concise and answered any questions I had. Dr. Malki's approach is very thorough and his follow-up procedures helped me to understand my status as a patient. The entire operation was three hours and I barely have a scar. I strongly recommend Dr. Malki for Cardiothoracic/bypass surgery. I feel totally confident in Dr. Malki!
In addition to being a very competent surgeon, I appreciated his straight forward manner of discussing the situation and what I needed to do to improve the prospects of a successful outcome. Although this straight forward manner may not work for everyone, it did for me and my husband. We both successfully quit smoking. I am very pleased with the care I was given.
Our experience with Dr Malki and staff has been excellent. He is very thorough and we appreciate his honesty and willingness to do the surgery without a blood transfusion. We would highly recommend him to anyone.
23 years ago Dr Malki put in a mechanical aortic heart valve - I'm still here writing this review - Isn't that enough?
Dr. Malki put in a new mechanical aortic valve for me 11 yrs ago today. Thank God & Dr. Malki I am 83 Happy new year Bernard Elliott theelliottsg@verizon.net
Sad for future potential patients because Dr. Malki is soon retiring. But he is also going to be teaching a new generation of surgeons before he fully enjoys the retirement he deserves thus creating many more highly skilled and capable hands in his absence. Thanks for treating my mom like a queen, Doctor Malki!
