DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR!!! Terrible front desk service! Terrible service from Dr. Horowitz!! If you've had a good experience, you probably are from a certain race or you haven't been going there long enough! The receptionist is ALWAYS in a bad mood, always sounds like she’s sick and recovering from a cold and her attitude always insinuates that you are bothering her. For crying out loud, this is a doctor’s office!! (this has been going on for YEARS). What is this, the 7 year bad mood? The only good service I ever received w... read more
So bad I would leave 0 stars if I could. – Terrible. The receptionist is terse and rude. The doctor is perpetually unavailable. I called with a serious allergic reaction to the flu vaccine *that he administered*, and the receptionist told me to take a Benadryl. I asked her to have the doctor call me, and he not only didn't return my call then, but he didn't return it a day later when I phoned in to say I'd been taken to the emergency room and needed to schedule a follow-up. If this was a one-off, I'd be understanding, but th... read more
I've never had a problem – I've been seeing Dr. Horowitz since around 2003 when my former physician passed away and Dr. Horowitz took his patients. It took awhile to get the records transferred, but he has always remembered me and my 2 kids when he sees us. We are not regulars, but his receptionist always seems to remember my name. His staff and nurses have always been polite and accomodating. I don't understand the disgruntled reviews. He is businesslike, yes, but he has always diagnosed my problems accurately, make necessa... read more
Good experience – I normally go to Dr. Horowitz's office in midtown for my yearly physical. I work 2 buildings down from his downtown office. I had never been to that office before, but I had an emergency one day while I was at work so I called the downtown office and they squeezed me in even though they were fully booked. I did have to wait 20-30 min which is understandable since I was squeezed in. Once I was in the room, I did't wait long for the doctor. He came in, listened to what was wrong and quickly diagnosed me. He s... read more
uninterested physician, rude staff – I have had the unfortunate experience to have visited both offices of Dr Horowitz. Both times he had no recollection of who I was, nor did he even bother to look at my chart. I needed to page him one time during the weekend for a true emergency (I ended up being admitted to the hospital) and he behaved as if I were disturbing him. You can forget about leaving him a message, he will either never receive it, or he will just not return your call. If you are on regular medication, you must ca... read more
Worst Staff, Uninterested Doctor, No Follow-Ups – Horrible staff! Uninterested staff with no people skills, said that I could see the doctor without much of a wait when i explained my schedule and the emergency, and then made me wait an hour in the waiting room and another 30 mins in the private room. No follow-ups and you really get the feeling like they are doing you a favor by seeing you. For a real doctor go elsewhere, to get taken advantage of come here.
Unprepared, uninterested, and no follow up – On my second visit, he entered the examining room with only the notes provided by the med student with whom I met first - he did not bother to get my chart (or perhaps to start one on my first visit - and prescriptions were written on that occasion). I called his office two days later and asked that he call me when available (I had a question about a prescription). I was told that instead I should call the next day. I called the next day and asked to leave a message again, and the... read more
Very thorough – Dr. Horowitz is a competent and thorough doctor. I've always found him to be direct and to the point, but not rude or impersonal as some of the other reviewers suggest. I've never waited more than 15 minutes at his wall st. office and his assistants have been accommodating of schedule changes. Dr. Horowitz has personally followed up with me each time I had tests conducted, leaving multiple messages until I returned his call. In my experience, he is an excellent doctor and I feel that he is on top of his game.
I gotta say, the reviews are true..... – I have been seeing Dr. Horowitz for a while now, but am going to switch doctors soon. The reason? You guessed it: the guy is just plain nasty. He seems like a decent enough doctor, but he makes it very clear that this is a business for him, and having to actually deal with patients is just an inconvenience he has to deal with. He will do everything to maximize his revenue. For example, he once told me to make an appointment due to some bloodwork results, but all he did at that appoint... read more
