In light of all the events going on, I just want to say thank you to the Dover police Dept. I for one can say the experiences I had with them (even tho most don't want to have a personal experience). Mine was due to mental health issues that caused major problems, I can say most of them took the time to make sure we were safe and they were very kind and professional as well as informative and empatheticic to our situation. As resident of Dover Point Road, I can appreciate the fact that people will and do toll jump, cut through the city to get to Maine, but speeding is unacceptable. I live in a 30 mph zone, and routinely witness speeding well over 50. I never see police enforcement during the afternoon rush hours. Help! It's a risk to just cross the street to walk the dog.
Please respond to calls on kids and animals left unattended in vehicles. It is getting warm out and it could save a life.
I would like to thank the officer who pulled me over tonight on hwy 155 for treating me like a human being and being kind. I was swerving a bit, because I was tired after work, and naturally he checked to make sure I wasn't impaired. Just had a very long week. God bless, stay safe
A big shout out to the Dover PD for helping make my son's Trick-or-Treat a night to remember. He was dressed as Police Officer for Halloween and an officer in our neighborhood got right out of his car and allowed me to take a picture of my son with the patrol car! I didn't get the officer's name but he was patrolling the Morningside Park area. Thank you!!
