Delicious!!! – I was so suprised to find out that the Dove has started serving food!!! And I was even more suprised at how good it was!!! The menu is light with cute things like tea sandwiches and mousse cakes that remind me of having lunch at the Plaza hotel -- it fits perfectly witth the dove's cute atmosphere. They also have unique cheeses to taste and these amazing marcona almonds that are totally addictive! The menu is pretty small and simple but with really sophisticated ingredients. I love this bar so much!!! – I think this is my new favorite bar! So cute inside! Great music! And very friendly staff, which is rare in New York CIty! There is no pretension here, just great atmosphere and great cocktails and wine. Had such a good time at their happy hour that I forgot my wallet which had a bunch of cash in it! they went above and beyond to contact me and I actually got my wallet back with absolutely nothing missing! So refreshing to be so well taken care of during and after my visit to the Dove.
BEWARE! Charged other people's drinks and food to my tab! Overpriced! – DO NOT OPEN A TAB HERE. PAY CASH. Went here for Happy Hour with a few close friends. Found it odd when one friend left with only a $12 bar tab after 3 hours of drinking and eating. Only later to find out that not only had her drinks and food been put on my tab, but additionally another $81. very nice – i had a birthday get-together there. made a reservation one day prior. they set up a nice roomy corner for us. music volume was loud but not too loud. an overall great place for a great time. (clean restroom for us girls)
Fantastic bar with great ambience – A great, grown-up place in a neighborhood full of college bars. Nothing wrong with a beer-soaked fraternity party, but the Dove is a nice exception. Deserves its romantic reputation, though it can get pretty crowded on the weekends. Attracts a pleasant crowd. Fantastic ambience, attractive decorations, great couches if you can snag one, and good happy hour prices. Absolutely worth visiting.
great conversation bar + creative inexpensive drinks – I finally got to check this place out after walking by it so many times. I was curious after i read some review calling The Dove a "bar for people who like to read." Sounds weird, but totally true - this is an intellectual's bar. great bartenders and great atmosphere – i love the bartender here she is hot and the place gets 10 trendy points from me! i love teh areas where you can hang out with your friends and the bathroom makes me happy when i have to use it. This is the type of bar you can spend hours in having a great time with friends or if you want to meet people.
Crowd pleaser. – Everyone is super friendly, the drinks are cheaper than you'd expect, it's super clean inside and anyone I've ever brought there loves it- a total crowd pleaser.
