Like many Psychiatrists, Jones shows his skill when treating with medication. I found his counseling to be subpar, while his medication knowledge was excellent. A lack of communication led to an abrupt end of his services at my request. Dr. Jones should be used as a medication manager, but not a therapist. Ensure that guidelines are set for criteria to obtain medication, otherwise he may deny Rx's without warning.
I have been seeing Dr. Jones for about 18 months now to help me deal with a significant change in my life circumstances that was causing depression. Doctors I have seen in the past have only wanted me to take a medication – I did not want to do that. Dr. Jones understands my feelings about taking pills and he has been supportive, provided me with guidance, asked thought-provoking questions, and provided me with referrals to groups that are available in the area and are free of charge.
