Being new to Medicare, I talked to Dr Daub in person. He assured me he accepted Medicare A&B and Supplemental G. I made an appointment a month out through the patient portal. The day of my appointment, Susan contacted me to find out who my Supplemental/Medigap Plan was with and was told that he ONLY saw patients with certain Advantage plans. It doesn't make sense as a G plan is the same regardless of who it's through. Now I'm back to finding a new doctor.

While I have no complaints about the Dr. himself. I know for a fact that their office is understaffed and consistently backed up. I recently couldn't book a physical exam for the next 3 months. Previously, I waited months for blood draw results even after multiple calls to the office. The doctor was too busy to call me back and discuss lab work, so his nurse had to return my call (and the nurse wasn't even sure why I had the lab work in the first place). Took forever to get an appointment. Took 3 phone calls and 1 email. Refiiling prescriptions is a nightmare thanks to his less than competent front desk MICHELLE. Do not go here! You will regret it!

There have been many times when I was required to provide a doctor's note or signature or something to turn in. Dr. Daub made it easy to see him quickly, and he always provided whatever I needed. It didn't matter if it was for me or my kids; Dr. Daub was there for my whole family, keeping us in good health, and getting us through life without any red tape. He not only gives referrals, but candy too. Thanks, Dr. Daub, for so many years of, dare I say it, enjoyable office visits. You're the best family doctor in San Diego.

Dr. Daub is amazing. He's very thorough and I feel like he genuinely cares about his patients. One of his office staff, however, is a completely different story. Jennifer and Brie are great. Susan is not. She's rude, condescending and CLEARLY doesn't give a rip about his patients and their health. I was so relieved to have found a doctor that actually listens and makes a plan for healing but I refuse to deal with Susan who makes it known she doesn't care about you or how much pain you're in. Prior to getting my first appointment I was required to enter all of my medical history electronically though a website. I was then scheduled with Dr. Daub's Nurse Practitioner assistant who reviewed my records and recommended that I get my primary care through the VA, as my history was too complex for their office. By the VA, I was advised that a treatment I needed wasn't supported by VA policy, but was available through my other insurance. I reached out to Dr. Daub's office for a referral appointment. I really like Dr. Daub and will continue to see him but his office staff leaves something to be desired. Susan at the front desk is least likely to be helpful or even friendly. Her answer to everything is always “no” . Ever since Melissa has left good luck on getting any call backs they say they will do or any results to any of your tests. And Brenda makes me a little nervous. I've been going to Dr Daub for a few years now. He genuinely cares about his patients. From the moment you step into the office to the aftercare, the whole overall experience is top notch. The front desk is friendly and prompt and knowledgeable. He takes his time. He makes the effort to know you. When I come for return visits even if it's a year later for a basic physical. He remembers every detail of my last visit. He let's me be a part of my medical choices. An overall great practice!
