they keep me informed of fires restrictions on caring for grass and weeds on our property. we follow their restrictions and advise every year
D.F.P.A. was founded when there were very good people here in Douglas county, by a vast majority. Times were tough, however the people were even tougher. Before the white folks like my grand parents moved here, the Indians would light fires to take care of anything the lightning did not take care of. After the white folks settled here they also knew that fire was a way to rejuvenate the land and make it more safe during the hot times of the year that we get here. Unfortunately, that has been changed by an incorrect idealism.
The Best men for the Job!

Realize the timber Industry is not your enemy. Putting men without paychecks is not helping anything. Lightning and idiots start fires. Yet, you want help from the same men you want to put out of work !
They should KNOW THEIR LIMITATIONS and have called for more resources before letting the fire get so big big in so few hours. A FAIL BY DFPA. SHAME. Next time call earlier is my advise.
They are a great organization serving the Douglas, County Oregon area.
