I recently went to Doughtery's for the first time and from the time I walked through the door I was extremely impressed from the friendly greeting at the door to the waitress taking our order. The atmosphere was so great and the food was also. The whole place made you feel like you were at home hanging out wih friends and those type of places are hard to find. So if you are looking for a place with great music, wonderful food and drink and fantastic atmopshere you have got to check this place out!!!!
Dougherty's Pub a bar or a pub Standard selection of irish beer. Fine atmosphere, kick back and relax. No tradition al food, no music. A place to have a beer. No different than any other bar except the selection of beer is irish.
Home Away From Home... with a better stock of alcohol. This is the place to go for a properly poured Guinness and a bit of banter with the barman. It's a neighborhood bar that draws from the full gamut of Baltimore urbanites.
Relaxing change of pace – Doughertys is a place that is welcoming and unusual. This is not your typical trendy downtown bar, more of a place where you go when you need a change of pace. I have been going to this bar for years and love the atmosphere. The staff is friendly and you can always pick out the regulars. The food is a great choice expecially now with the economy falling. The food is regular pub food, burgers fries great specials. For those of you who didnt know a lot of the stuff is homemade. The desserts are all ho... read more
Good The decor is Old English Tudor style, with fireplaces and mantels and windows made of the bottoms of wine/beer bottles, giving the rooms the look of an English Gentleman's library. The food is exquisite, the service exceptional. Pricey and worth the price
Great regular hangout. – I've been going to this pub now for over a year and while it's not trendy like some places in Baltimore feel the extreme need to be, it's quite comfortable enough to frequent a couple times a week. As others have mentioned the service is sometimes irregular, but on the whole I haven't had problems. Definite Cheers feeling as there are a lot of regulars and it's easy to carve your niche and feel at home. The clientele is always diverse - I balk at the other reviewer's post about poor service due to th... read more
some tips – there are booths but often they are all filled, so don't get your hopes up before you get there. even if you don't get a booth there are a bunch of tables, so it's not all stools or standing. the pool tables are in pretty good shape although one was out of order last time i was there, but it's cool because they're in another room. you can hunker down for a serious game of pool without too many drunken rowdies, or you can bring your entire party back there for a drunken rowdy pool game. also despite what the descr... read more
Bad Experience – I have been going to Dougherty's Pub for years so I was very disappointed with my recent experience at the Pub. Two friends and myself decided to stop for a quick drink and a quick bite to eat on Saturday April 1st. We had the worst waitress ever. She spent more time talking on the phone and friends than she did patrons. When we called her for the check she accused us of yelling at her. The worst part of the story is when we called the manager he didn't even ask us what was the problem. He stated "If you hav... read more
They've Brightened Up – Our first visit here was a pleasant experience. This pub is not snug, but pleasantly expansive and bright. Some serious pool gets shot in the back room if my observation of players entering with their personal cues is accurate. A solid draft beer selection including Guinness and Harp. The food was pub grub--filling and tasty. The prices were low-moderate, a relief to my wallet considering I had my family in tow. Will return, for sure.
