There is absolutely free parking in a large attached parking garage. I don’t know who could have said no.
Everyone that I met during my appointment from front desk check in to ultrasound with biopsy to meeting Dr MacGillivray were very nice.
Every appointment seemed like an eternity, waited 1hr and 15 minutes one time and that was a good day. The waiting area could use new carpets and is not sanity. Seems to take advantage of people or put himself above try them.
Dr. MacGillivary and his office staff are one of the finest In the world. They were prompt, huge amount of sharing of knowledge, constant concern about us. Their and his ability to make us comfortable about decisions was beyond belief. I am a retired physician( which they did not know) and know the very best when I see it. This is it. He is the best.
Went to Dr MacGillivary for Thyroid cancer and had TT. The first appt. I was there for 4 hours. Had the surgery on Friday March 1st and he didn't put a drain in. Saturday evening developed a Hematoma and one side of my incision was left wide open which became infected and kept getting bigger. 3 .5 weeks later it's still not healed and had my follow up appointment with him today, 3/20 which took 2 hours to sit and wait over my appt time. He did nothing for the infection and didn't drain Hematoma.
Had biopsy scheduled. It was supposed to be "simple, ten minutes". Appt was at 930 to take biopsy. I had to be there for 8:30 am so they could "prep" me for the biopsy. Anyway, they did not take me in at 8:30, or 9:00 or 9:30 or 10 am. I was offended and felt like I was treated like crap. When I complained, the nurses all said this guy is notorious for not being able to be on time. Like he thinks he's God I was told. Anyway when I complained they said it would still be ANOTHER hour. I left.
Surgery started 2-1/2 hours late - no explanation from him. I was abandoned in hospital post-surgery. I told staff I was Outpt. Next morning he learned I was still in hospital! I did not learn how surgery went until 4 days after. I had spent the night with no pain meds and no doctors orders to stay. I was Outpt scheduled in his office. I was mistaken for Inpt day of surgery. Billed for Inpt - my insurance allowed to pay Outpt. He did not advocate for his patient in a horrible situation!
Fantastic doctor
Dr. MacGillivray is the best surgeon to have for a parathyroid.
