Doug. My ego centered husband would only allow us to see a male counselor. I drove myself and my newborn to him 30-60 mins each way. was his patient more than 20 years ago. I was in an abusive marriage...that I was very niave of. Doug never told me that. He suggested that I stowed away money, and suitcase and have an extra car key made...see niave! I did not have a good experience with this counselor and cannot in good conscience recommend him to anyone. He did a number of things that I would consider to be professionally unethical and clinically irresponsible. Additionally, based on the black-and-white thinking he displays on his website about "bad" (selfish) people, my guess would be that he thinks these actions are justified.
