I stayed at the Hilton DoubleTree Toronto Airport this past weekend with international guests who had flown in from Europe. We booked 4 rooms in total. Regrettably, it was the most disappointing experience I have had at a Hilton property. Several service issues arose and the way staff handled our requests fell well below the standards we expected, leaving my guests particularly dissatisfied. My international guests had an absolute disaster of an experience at this hotel. The staff were rude, unprofessional, and showed none of the hospitality you would expect from a Hilton-affiliated property. One of the most frustrating issues was the payment policy. They would not allow the room to be paid for using a debit card, even if a credit card was available for the security deposit hold. That policy made no sense and created unnecessary stress. Location is nice that it is close to the airport, but it is not in the city. There are a few options to eat at that are walking distance. At check in I did receive a comp cookie, it did contain nuts. Inside the hotel lobby there is Starbucks as well as a sit down restaurant. There are plenty of cozy places to sit in the lobby, including glitter chairs. The staff was very professional and polite. There is an indoor pool and hot tub in the basement.
