I had a pretty sub-par stay. I usually don’t have an issue with Hilton hotels but it was just a bunch of little things that added up. I travel for work a lot and stay in lots of hotels. This is the first one that downright refused to charge the company card on file that was used to book the room. I had to pay out of pocket and get reimbursed by the company. The entire hotel just seems old and run down. Everything felt dirty. The chairs in the lobby/bar area are all stained, several of the tables and chairs in the outdoor courtyard are broken, and there was a good bit of trash we noticed outside. Our room was extremely dark as the window was facing a concrete wall and was completely obstructed, so no natural light got in and the lamps were really dim. This is THE WORST DoubleTree I have ever visited! They have been remodeling for months and there have been no improvements whatsoever. None of the side doors key entry pads work so you can’t just park closest to your entry door. You have to walk through the entire hotel and it’s an absolute headache. Beware. I was booked to stay here for a career fair at the University for my company. I am a 28 year old young female and felt uncomfortable staying here. I checked in after my flight later in the evening and checked out early in the morning for the career fair. There was some loitering around the hotel parking lot. STAY AWAY!! booked a stay for my employee and then got hit with a smoking fee weeks after the stay and she has never smoked in her life. We played by the hotel's rules and disputed it. They sent a video of cigarette butts in the toilet with no room number, time, or date stamp to prove anything.
