Husband and I took a mini vacation to the Astoria area for our 35th Anniversary 0n 9/15/14 I had found Doogers during a search for Gluten Free dining, I have to say I was so absolutely please with the way the accommodated my issues with having Celiac Disease and Colitis ( meaning no dairy/no gluten of any kind) I got the Seafood Combination platter and they lightly beaded it with rice flour and pan fried it so it was not cross-contaminated. I loved the clam chowder! Admittedly not exactly what I was expecting but VERY flavorful and fresh! Crab cakes were bomb and the servers Nicole and Jordan were delightful! Solid service, drinks, and food!
Food was mediocre (except the crab cakes) and service wasn't that good (seemed more annoyed to be there than anything). The clam chowder was milk with some clams and a single 1 cm cubed chunk of potato. I'm not getting how anyone could think that was good. The salad was a bunch of browning iceberg spines and some soggy cocktail shrimp. Really lousy. Won't be going back.
