Weed-infested Grass Beware. During May 2010, I purchased 4 pallets of St. Augustine sod from Don's Grass and Landscape.. Within days of installation it became apparent that the sod was fully infested with Nutsedge/Nutgrass - one of the nastiest weeds on earth. Unfortunately my entire lawn is infested and it will take an expensive professional lawn service to get rid of it. Recommend that anyone who purchases sod should check it for this weed prior to purchase and installation..
DO NOT BUY FROM KINGRANCH TURF OR AAA ON HWY 290 Dons grass is great but I would recommend that YOU NEVER BUY FROM KINGRANCH TURF OR AAA GRASS AND LANDSCAPE. THEY SOLD ME DEAD GRASS AND WERE VERY RUDE ABOUT IT AFTERWARD. DO NOT BUY FROM KINGRANCH TURF OR AAA GRASS IF YOU WANT GRASS OR SOD IN AUSTIN TEXAS
Excellent Pumpkin Patch We took our sons to Don's Grass and Landscaping to pick a perfect pumpkin. They had a huge selection and all different types of pumkins. They had a great maze for the kids to run in, and didn't mind if we took our pumpkin pictures for the year. Great people!
They don't care about their customers! I purchased grass from Don't Grass & Landscape yesterday. The top pieces of the grass were dead and underneath most were yellow and some were molded. I put the entire pallet of grass out in my front yard - waiting to see if it will survive. Here's an issue I found - I spent $200 on the grass (inlcuded delivery charge) plus a $5.00 deposit on the pallet. Great Prices, Great Service While I haven't bought any grass from Don's, I can say that they have the best prices on Crushed Granite and Sandy Loam. Plus, they are an Austin family owned and operated business. Keep up the good work guys!
Terrible Grass...even worse Customer Service! M husband is a professional landscaper and was working a job that purchased 5 pallets of sod from the Don's Grass in Marble Falls (this was yesterday (04/23/10). When it was delivered it was all so dead that it couldn't be picked up, it was a pile of chunks of dirt with dead grass attached. Good Family Fun!! I was so disappointed when Don's Grass moved from their Brodie Location and I could not find a pumpkin patch quite like theirs,but I was so happy when I found them again. My kids love to go and look at all the pumpkins, mazes, animals, And there favorite the big giant pumpkin. I highly recommend this place for good family fun.
Unhappy on LBJ i have been buying St. Augustine sod for over 15 years. I purchased a pallet of grass from Don's in Marble Falls to touch up an area in my yard that had some die off from the harsh winter. This was the sorriest excuse for grass I have ever seen. The sod layer was so thin that every piece tore into pieces before you could get it off the stack. Worthless. Could not take it back because Don's is not open on the weekend. Sorry sod, and no customer service. Avoid at all costs.
never again!!! April 2008 I recently purchased sod from Don's Gras through their Marble Falls outlet. I wish I had seen the website before committing; strangely enough the local sales guy did not even know the website existed. The site has a review "Not what I expected!! " by John M. I can only fully support John's findings; my experience was at least as bad, if not a touch worse. I took a bunch of pictures and presented them to the local guy who faxed them to Don in Austin.
