Okay apartments, big rent hikes! I've rented from Don Kennedy twice, and both experiences were the same: okay rent initially, reasonably well maintained building with lousy laundry facilities, and a BIG RENT HIKE right after my lease ended. After my one-year lease expired I went month-to-month both times. Big mistake, as they raised the rent first the first time by $50, the second by $100. On a $650/mo studio, that makes a big difference. If you're renting from DK, I suggest renewing your lease ASAP to protect against this.

Don Kennedy Real Estate is a great place to live near UW. Lived in an apartment for 3 years with Don Kennedy Real Estate while at UW. Super nice manager, reasonable rent and the office staff was okay. Would definatly recommend. The buildings are older, but well kept and they always seemed to be upgrading something.
Beyond shady. SHADY. Please reconsider. I'm not into writing negative reviews about places as I find when one calms down one writes a more level headed review. With Don Kennedy Real Estate however, I consider it my civic duty to warn people of this company. If you think I'm being harsh, go to their 'office' in the U district and see if this is a company you want to do business with. If that doesn't worry you (it should have worried me) see how you like doing business with an invisible landlord who never answers their phone. ... read more
