good food – Good mex food is hard to find, especially with resonable prices. I went with a friend and we shared the fajitas- it was MORE than enough for both of us. The margaritas as very good as well. The waiters were slow and not the friendliest and it was a little loud. But it hit the spot!

El Torito Here We Come! – After reading a CitySearch review, my husband made reservations for my birthday. Upon arrival, we were told it would be a 15-20 minute wait! So why even bother to make reservations? Yes, the food is authentic, however the slow service and the noisy atmosphere does not create a pleasurable dining experience. However since the food was impressive, we still made reservations to take our out of town guests here. Upon arrival, they could not find our reservations. In fact, we were basically called liars ... read more

Great! – I'm not understanding the reviews that suggest Don Cuco's is pricey....I found it be be quite INexpensive. The restaurant is great and has a really fun atmosphere. The margaritas are very strong. Don't attempt more than two unless you're a rockstar. The food was fantastic. The shrimp fajitas for 2 come with a huge amount of food and the shrimp were enormous. Will definitely come again with friends. Great for large parties!

Pricier than most, but worth it. – The margaritas are pretty good. Food is amazing. Compared to other sit down Mexican places in the area, Don Cucos beats them all. Their prices are a little steep, but are everything is so tasty. Tortilla soup is the best weve ever had. Black beans and beans de la olla are incredibly good. Our favs include any of the enchiladas, fish tacos, carne al pastor and there are so many good things here, you cant go wrong. The long waits are annoying and bar area is pretty small. Its too bad they can... read more

Great food, even better margaritas – I've been going to Don Cuco since I was a little girl, and I think it's the best Mexican restaurant in L.A. The margaritas are strong but good (I wouldn't have more than 2-3 unless you have a big tolerance!); the food is good and the portions are big. The cheese enchiladas, the beef taco, the chicken fajitas and the grilled shrimp burrito are the best things on the menu, but it's all good. It's a great neighborhood atmosphere, very popular among the locals, so the wait gets long especiall... read more

Not impressed – I do not get the draw this place has. The food is not very good at all. The drinks are fine, but nothing special. Certainly not worth the long wait. I keep giving this place chance after chance but I am done with it. Don't bother.

Great Mexican Food, Fantastic Menu Selection – I have to laugh when I read some of these reviews where people have only given them 1 star. Especially the one that couldn't rate the food because he was to busy trying not to die due to slow service and a long wait, hilarious! I have been eating here at this specific location with my family for more than 20 years now and have never experienced or witnessed any examples of these negative complaints that some people claim, yes it's possible but I feel that it's unlikely. The serv... read more
